Week 8 Day 1: The Heavenly Value ⇧ ⇩
Question
What were the differences between the value of the Kingdom of Heaven and the value of the world that Jesus spoke to His disciples?

Jesus spoke of the value of the Kingdom of Heaven. Be weary of the Pharisees’ yeast. Do not be afraid of the world but fear God.

Do not gather earthly riches but heavenly treasure in God.

Do not worry about tomorrow but seek His kingdom first.

Faithfully serve God and vigilantly wait for Jesus’ second coming.

Identity - The ignorant rich stored up things for himself to enjoy but didn’t know his life was in God’s hand. What am I pursuing? Does it have an eternal value?

Identity - Am I worried about tomorrow and meeting the needs of daily life? Ask God for His guidance in getting closer to Him and finding peace and fulfillment in His promises.

Integrity - The path of Jesus is not easy. He teaches us to make every effort to enter the Kingdom of God through the narrow gate. Do I brush aside God’s salvation? Is my conduct commensurate to Jesus’ grace?

Fidelity - It is by God’s grace and mercy that Jesus healed the sick during Sabbath. Do I value precious souls higher than rules and regulations?

Identity - God loves us and asks us to feast with Him. Do I understand that I am sitting with Him today? How does it affect my conduct knowing this fact?

Fidelity - God searches for all those who are lost. Can I comprehend how God loves the world? Can I love all those around me as God loves the world? Am I praying desperately for their salvation? Am I willing to pass the Good News onto them?

How may one have faith in God’s Kingdom?

Identity - Jesus teaches that we cannot serve both God and money. Who am I serving? Is my heart set on the Kingdom of God or the corruptible temporal pleasures of the world?

Fidelity - Do I seek other people’s approvals or the fulfillment in presence of God when I serve? Am I pursuing a sense of self-satisfaction and feeling of success? Or, do I want to know God deeper?

Identity - Only one of the ten lepers healed by Jesus came back to give thanks to God. Do I often remember the healing and salvation of Jesus and start each day by giving thanks to Him?

Identity - It is revealed that our hearts are tarnished by the worldly temptations and values when Jesus said: “How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!” Reflect on the effects of the worldly material temptation has on me and how has it impeded me to devote myself fully to Jesus?

How did Jesus prepare the disciples for His death?

Jesus predicted His own death and gave sight to the blind.

Through Zacchaeus the Tax Collector, Jesus explained the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.

Through the parable of the minas, Jesus explained the importance of wisely put to work our gifts.

Jesus rode donkey into Jerusalem. Jesus’ sorrow for Jerusalem.

Identity - Jesus said He came to seek and to save the lost. Am I unable to let go of my past sins and failures? How does Jesus’ word help me realize my value and worth?

Fidelity - When the servant said to the master that he reaps what he did not sow, the servant looked down upon the mina his master entrusted to him. Am I able to see the gifts the Lord has entrusted to me and am willing to be used by Him to become the blessing of others?
